Perfect Peppermint Patties

A sweet and minty holiday treat!
Serves 5 dozen | 


1 lb powdered sugar
3 tablespoons butter, softened
3 teaspoons peppermint extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup evaporated milk
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons shortening


  1. In a bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, peppermint & vanilla extract. Add evaporated milk and mix well.
  2. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on waxed paper-lined cookies sheet. Chill for 20 minutes and flatten ball with the bottom of a glass to 1/4 inch thick. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. In a microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and shortening. Stir together. Dip patties in chocolate, place on waxed paper to harden.
