Whiskey Maple Candied Pecans

Sweet and smoky with a touch of spicy heat.
Serves 12 | 


1 lb pecans
1 1/2 tablespoons whiskey, your preference
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons salt


  1. Preheat oven to 325° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the whiskey, maple syrup, melted butter, cayenne pepper, ground cinnamon and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir until well combined.
  3. Add the pecans to the whiskey mixture and toss to coat.
  4. Pour the pecans into the middle of the baking sheet and spread out to even layer.
  5. Place into the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and flip pecans. Place back into the oven to bake for an additional 5 minutes. Flip and bake for 5 more minutes and repeat flipping and baking for 5 minutes one last time. (Pecans should be deep brown in color)
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before enjoying.
