Vanilla Maple Baked Pears

Not your everyday sweet treat.
Serves 8 |

4 Anjou pears
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Granola, for filling

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Cut pears in half and use a melon baller to scoop out a small portion of each pear.
  3. Slice a thin portion off the bottom to let the pears sit flat and place cut side up on a baking sheet. Sprinkle ground cinnamon over each pear.
  4. Combine the maple syrup and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
  5. Spoon most of the vanilla maple syrup over the pears. Reserve a small amount for after pears are baked.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake pears for 25 minutes, until edges of pears are lightly browned.
  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle the remaining vanilla maple syrup over the pears, spoon a small amount of granola into the pears, and enjoy!
